Anthem, AZ - The Anthem Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Anthem native and Boulder Creek High School alum, Tamara Clark as its new Executive Director. Tamara comes to the Anthem Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Director after working in the non-profit sector for the last nine years. She currently resides in Anthem with her husband, 3 daughters, 4 dogs, and a turtle. Tamara graduated from Northern Arizona University, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Business in only three years.
Following graduation from NAU, Tamara moved to Huntington Beach, California with her now husband in pursuit of her Master’s Degree in Sports Management. While attending Long Beach State University she had the opportunity to work for UCLA Athletics, USC Athletics, The Angels, Microsoft, and the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, where she served as the Director of Community and Events. Tamara’s role at the HBCOC gave her an insight into grant writing and management, politics, and hosting successful events to support the many small businesses that operate in Huntington Beach. She helped with the US Open of Surfing, multiple ribbon cuttings, galas, and fundraising events. Tamara also helped bring the Air Show to Huntington Beach as a large event to help the businesses during what would typically be an off-season for tourists.
After welcoming their first daughter in 2017, the couple decided to relocate back to Anthem where her family currently resides. Since moving back, Tamara has worked for a non-profit in a role that has allowed her to make an impact in multiple areas of youth sports through multiple schools and youth sports organizations throughout the state of Arizona, apply for grants, host fundraising events, and work directly with professional sports teams and multiple boards.
Tamara is thrilled to now invest her diverse knowledge and experience back into the community where she and her husband grew up and now raise their own children. She knows the importance of small businesses to communities and is ready to help keep that initiative booming.
When Tamara isn’t playing chafer for her kids, she is coaching middle school and high school softball for Anthem Prep while also helping grow the softball community within Anthem. She considers herself very fortunate to be able to do all the things she does because of the support of her husband and family that also reside in Anthem and in Tramanto.
Tamara officially takes the reins on February 28, 2022, and will be working alongside the outgoing Executive Director Heather Maxwell, the Board of Directors, staff, and stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition of leadership for the organization in the coming weeks.
“We are very excited to welcome a vibrant and capable new Executive Director to the Anthem Area Chamber of Commerce,” said chamber board President, Matt Word. “Tamara brings a wealth of experience and a true love of the High Sonoran Desert.”
